I would have thought, with all of the effort, and all of the cause, that the death of Osama Bin Laden would have been celebrated by everyone in America. Hell, even most of the world. A truly bad person killed by a US operation, the one responsible for so many innocent people dying on 9-11. Yet…I see on the news that some Republicans do voted against legislation that would give honor to president Obama and the Navy Seals who took down the world wide terrorist.

Like..really? I have heard many talk about how Obama does not deserve credit, but the military does. That just shows how little they know about how the situation went down, the military in general and how blind people are towards Obama. It is shocking to me, honestly.

Firstly, president Obama went into Pakistan to find Bin Laden. That’s a place president Bush would not have ever gone. Second…it was CIA intelligence that found his location. Third, it was the president, the head of all military, you know, “The Commander and Chief,” who gave the okay on the entire operation. But you’re right. He doesn’t deserve any credit at all.

Silly people.

This whole thing with Obama’s birth certificate still blows me away. I find it humorous, yet sad all at the same time. In regards to those who are still persistent, including Donald Trump, about whether or not Obama was born in the United States, you really need to accept facts.

Yes, it is true, there is abundant amounts of fact that show the president was indeed, born in the United States. It is a simple fact that every possible piece of evidence that could prove someone was born in the United States has been shown. This documentation includes state government specific documentation from the state of Hawaii (AKA “the long birth certificate” that gives in-depth details), public data records, 1961 birth announcements in not just one, but two different Hawaii newspapers.

And let’s be real, do you really think they would let someone run for president that isn’t a U.S. citizen? Do you really think that they just let someone run without doing a very in-depth, thorough investigation? I mean, come on now.

The truth is, John McCain was less of a U.S. citizen than Barack Obama is. Why? He was actually, literally, and for real, born in Panama. However, it was on a U.S. military base, which is the only reason he is considered American. It is quite amazing how no one ever questioned his patriotism, or if he was a real American. Was it because he served our country and was a PoW? Perhaps. I can’t really say.

There was recently an excellent article written about Obama’s birth certificate by the AP. Here’s a link in case you want to be informed: AP Obama Birth Certificate Article.

Well, wouldn’t you know it, the Republicans budged and the Democrats didn’t. How’s that for a change of pace. Though, I think in the end, both sides had to move on issues, and I can honestly say that I think a real bipartisan effort was made in an attempt to not have to shut down the government.

I think president Obama said it quite well when he said that they were able to make “a debate about spending cuts, not social issues like women health, and the protection of our air and water.” That was the whole key point of my previous post, “The War on “US”.

The new budget includes some drastic cuts on some programs, but I think overall, it’s a decent proposal. There’s not much you can do when you have to cut funding somewhere, something has to give. It is unfortunate that we’re in that kind of situation in the first place, but hopefully we won’t be for long. I know if president Obama manages to do what he envisions, this country will be standing strong, independent, and better than ever before. I truly do believe that because he speaks of the country I wish to see.

And for those who think (for whatever reason) he’s out to destroy us, I just imagine that you must not understand that the world today is nothing like it was even 20 years ago. The United States is falling behind, new economies are trying very hard to surpass the U.S. and lead the world in industries, and yet we sit idle as if there is no danger. The truth is, we need to rebuild our country from the inside, become energy independent, fix our health care, our education system and learn that living within our means doesn’t equate to being poor, but to being bigger, better and more efficient than ever before. We have all of the capabilities right here within our grasp. Right here in America, we just have to build the political will to use it. Yes, change can be scary, but in this case, not changing will cost us far more.

It’s pretty amazing to me that what is going on in Congress right now is not being told how it really is. The budget cuts being discussed is a fight between one side trying to stand up for the rights of the average American and on the other side, trying to strip those rights away, reforging a more Corporate America. It’s also quite clear, as republican leaders have stated more than once, their top priority is to make sure president Obama does not get re-elected, by any means necessary. That means, even if it brings down the average American.

Basically the big debate over the U.S. budget is now down to a couple of things. One being Planned Parenthood and abortion rights and the second being the EPA’s ability to regulate green house gases. Both of these are incredibly important issues and should not even be a major part of the “budget” that republicans are trying to propose. Let me explain further.

First of all, it is already completely illegal for Planned Parenthood to use any federal funding for abortion purposes. This means that the entire arguing point that republican leaders, John Boehner, in particular, is trying to use is bullshit. The funding that will be stripped from Planned Parenthood will be the money that helps people live healthier, happier lives. The money that helps prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place, the funding that helps make a safe haven for millions of Americans in times of need. It’s like stripping money from hospitals that are trying to help people from getting sick. Yeah, it’s on that level. Ridiculous.

In regards to the EPA, their job is to protect human health, and ensure that we have clean air and clean water to live with. Is that so bad? I don’t think so.

The clean air act is one of the most successful programs ever implemented and has had vast positive impacts on American lives and those of people across the world. However, allowing the EPA to regulate green house gases means that some huge corporations will have to change the way they do business, in particular, oil and coal companies. Big surprise here, right? We already know that oil and coal are hugely in the pockets of republicans (and some democrats too.).

As it is, without a doubt true, green house gases are not good for human health. As more research is done there is more and more evidence that it endangers humans by increasing respiratory diseases, increasing cancer rates, etc. There is a reason that asthma rates have been going up consistently, along with other illnesses that can be linked to poor air quality.

This is not even taking into consideration climate change, often referred to as global warming. This particular piece to the puzzle is quite complicated, so I will not get into all of the details of it right now (though I assure you, I will get into it eventually because it’s one of my biggest topics that I like to discuss!).

The point is, Democrats bend on many things to try to pass legislation, at least they have for the last few years, and republicans, for as long as I have been alive, never do. (This is a broad generalization of course.) In this particular case, I believe they are fighting for the right reasons. To allow the Planned Parenthood to be stripped of millions in funding is simply wrong. To not allow for the EPA to do their job and protect American’s health is immoral. To hold up the entire United States government in an attempt to push through unjust and inappropriate legislation is unimaginable.

Yet, here it is, about to happen, all because of corporate greed, and the people who are pro-war, thinking they can then tell women what they can or cannot do with their own bodies. When are we, as American’s, going to stop letting this happen? Start taking appropriate action to dislodge all of the greed infested lobbyists out of congress, remove the representatives that are more about themselves and corporate industries than that of the average American.

What’s worse is that in the 2010 elections the people who should have known better didn’t come out to vote. This allowed for the situation to get even worse. Come on people, educate yourselves. The country you thought you lived in is being destroyed, piece by piece, and I assure you, it isn’t because of president Obama.
