Yikes, the swine flu. At first, I was like, so what, it’s a flu and less people are dying from that then the normal flu. Big woop. Yeah…no. I see how it is spreading more and more and there is not nearly enough vaccine to fight it. Yesterday, every school district in the area was closed until next week. because over 50% of the student population was out sick.

That’s pretty crazy.

Now I found out one of my best friends in the world likely has it, with 103 degree fever. I guess he is going to the hospital. More people are dying from it too. There are definitely too many cases of this flu going around.

Sometimes with work and such I have a tendency to be a lot like an ostrich and stick my head into a hole and that’s all I an focus on. So, stepping out of that box and reading the news and hearing first hand how it is affecting people  know, obviously, makes it more real. I think it is like that for everyone though.

I see why our nation has declared it a state of emergency now. It is becoming a more serious issue than it seemed to be originally.
